THE TRUTH OF SCHOOL MATHEMATIC AND STUDENT LIKE TO STUDY OF MATHEMATIC

Ebbut and Starker, 1995 to explain that teacher don’t be properly defined of mathematics as an axiomatic mathematic, but as a school mathematic. Some of the truth of school mathematics is:

1. Mathematics is doings the investigation of system and relation.

  • To give an opportunity to students to: doings a finding and investigation of system to select a relation. Or can also to doings an attempt with several of method.
  • To motivate the students to find an order, difference, comparative, grouping and also to take a conclusion.
  • To help the students to understand and find a relation between one of mean and other.

2. Mathematics is creative which need an imagination, instruction and finding invention.

  • To motivate an initiative and give an opportunity different think. And also motivate curiosity, wish to ask, potency to protest and potency to recon.
  • To value finding which in outside of suppose as a think useful.
  • To motivate the students find a structure and design of mathematics, value a finding and thinking of reflexive.
  • Don’t suggest using the definite method.

3. Mathematics is creativity of problem solving.

  • Provide the atmosphere to study of mathematics that which stimulate an emergence mathematics problem.
  • To help the student to divorce mathematics problem use their method and to help the student to know information which used for problem solving of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students think logical, consistent, systematic and develop system documentation/ note.
  • To develop a potency and skill to problem solving.
  • To help the student to know how and when use several of equipment/ media mathematics education like as compass, calculators, etc.

4. Mathematics is materials of communication.

  • To motivate the students to know the characteristic of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students to make a sample of the characteristic of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students to explain the characteristic of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students to give a motive be needed activity of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students to speaking about problem of mathematics.
  • To motivate the students to read and write of mathematics.
  • To value the mother language and student in speaking about mathematics.
